Carbon neutral symposium

NSABS 2019 will be a carbon neutral symposium, so we encourage participants to opt for shared or clean transportation options. The carbon footprint of attendees will be compensated by buying carbon credits which support projects such as tree-planting or clean energy investments.

  • Access by bike:
  • Thanks, you emit only a minor amount of CO2 by breathing! You can use the Google Maps below to plan your route. Shower facilities are available on request at Campus Coupure - please ask at the registration desk when you arrive.

  • Access by train:
  • You emit only 0.4kg CO2 per 10km. Campus Coupure is located not far from Gent-Sint-Pieters station, easily accessible by train from any Belgian city. Check the website of NMBS/SNCB to plan your journey.

  • Access by tram:
  • You emit only 0.01 kg CO2 per 10 km. From Gent-Sint-Pieters station, take tram 2 or 4 and get off at stop Rozemarijnbrug (tram 2) or Theresianenstraat (tram 4). From there, it's a 5 minute walk to the campus entrance.

  • Access by car:
  • You emit 1.7kg CO2 per 10km. Strongly discouraged except as a last resort! Otherwise, please try to carpool, you can find directions here.

NSABS 2019 will be held at Ghent University, in the Campus Coupure (Blok E). When you arrive on campus you will find signs to help you find your way.
